For my A-Level Art final piece I made a sculpture inspired by imagery and symbolism from mass surveillance and cyber-warfare. At the time the Snowden revelations had just come to light and we were just beginning to understand the extent to which the NSA and other intelligence agencies used technology to intrude on personal privacy and conduct both cybernetic and conventional military warfare.

Made largely from computer components, the sculpture depicts an octopus; a reference to the NROL-39 spy satellite devouring an array of surveillance monitors, as a protest to mass surveillance and the police state.
